I'm grateful and proud to have had a number of amazing opportunities outside of work and study to improve myself as a person and contribute to the world. Here's just a snapshot of some things I really care about and achievements I'm proud of!

Commencement Speech for DigiPen's 2021 Cohort

One of my greatest honors was being selected by DigiPen faculty to speak to my graduating cohort for our virtual commencement ceremony. It's around 10 minutes long and timestamped here.

My peers had worked extremely hard, and, while I wanted to give them congratulations, I also know so many are upset with the current state of the world regarding climate change, human rights, and justice, especially. I wanted to address those topics, and encourage everyone to develop a plan and work toward gaining control of the situations where they feel powerless, to improve the world for ourselves and future generations. It was well received, and I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to leave a lasting, meaningful message with these great people I have worked with over the past years.

2020 DigiPen Student of The Year

In the 2020 DigiPen Student Life Excellence Awards, my peers nominated and voted for me as Student of the Year. I think I was most enticed with opportunities to help and bring positive experiences to other members of the DigiPen community, and I'm just glad I was able to leave that many people with positive memories of our time there.

DigiPen Wellness Club Representative

Through my junior and senior year, I was entrusted as the representative of DigiPen's Wellness Club by its former leader, Emilio, and then passed the responsibility to a friend of mine, Brillan once I graduated. I organized and guided meetings where members could reflect on positive experiences from the last week, exercise, meditate, and perform conscious acts of kindness for one another. I found club meetings gave people a safe, consistent event to look forward to, and recharge some of their energy depleted by our rigorous schedules, and I'm glad to have served the community by maintaining these events.
